Hibiscus Marina Gets New Walkways!
Its out with the old, in with the new for the walkway along the marina waterfront here at Hibiscus By The Bay. The Hibiscus marina gets new walkways and we have to say thank goodness! That old walkway was so narrow…, so narrow that we swear we saw birds loose their balance and fall off of it. 🙄
Many dark mornings on the way down to the boat to go fishing, I had to worry about Vivian tripping and falling in the dark on that old walkway. The thing is if you fell you could easily end up in the water and with a good chance to get a nasty barnacle rash on the way down. 😕
Hibiscus’s new marina walkway is made out of concrete and is about 6 ft. wide as compared to 2 ft.-3 ft. wide for the old walkway. They have installed new pedestals in an effort to better accommodate the boat slip owners and I suspect to improve the overall neatness of the areas around the boat slips. In the past there could be water hoses and electrical cords strung across the walkway to the boat slip(s). That was an additional hazard as if just walking on the marrow tight rope of the walkway wasnt enough.
Quite a difference eh? With the pedestals located near the pylon between 2 slips there shouldn’t be any hoses or electrical cords across the walkway. Folks should be able to safely walk the path and not have to worry about falling off.
Thank you and congratulations to those who who got it done.
Tight lines, Mike and Vivian
