September Tides-Fish the September Tides!
Welcome to the September Tides!
I am sorry, I do not have much of a fishing report for the month of August. We were just too busy doing living shoreline restoration projects, one of which was Hibiscus By The Bay. And the real estate business was demanding a lot of time as well.
The few times we did get out on the bay we were able to catch some sea trout and redfish. The month of August was very hot, even the morning bite did not seem to last too long. Fishing early was the key and I never had a chance to try the evening or night bite.
Rob Nichols and Bob Ernst got out and went bottom fishing for grouper. The report is they had quite a few bites but the fish were either so large they couldn’t stop them from going back in their holes or they were so big they just got broke off.
Rob did manage to bring back to the boat a pretty fish that Bob identified as a Cubera snapper. I think the Cubera snapper is more of a south Florida fish. I bet he ate well that evening! 🙂
Hopefully, we will be able to get more fishing time in and fish the September tides! 😉
